Ford currently makes two main model lines of trucks. The first is the Ford Ranger, which is a mid-size pickup. The second is the F-Series trucks. These trucks come in several sizes, which starts with the light-duty F-150 and goes up to the F-450. The F-350 and F-450 are typically heavy-duty work trucks that aren’t usually bought by the average truck buyer. On the other hand, the F-150 is one of the top-selling vehicles in America. In fact, the F-Series trucks have been the best-selling trucks in America period since 1977.
The F-150 comes in a huge range of layouts and styles. It offers both four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive layouts as well as three cab layouts in regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew. Three different bed lengths are also available, including a five and a half foot bed, six and a half foot and eight-foot. The current generation of F-150 also has several engine choices, including a 3.5-liter turbo EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8 and a 3.0-liter PowerStroke diesel V6.
The F-250, F-350 and F-450 are known as Ford Super Duty trucks. These trucks are made for hauling large livestock and camping trailers and boats. The smallest available engine is a 6.2-liter Boss V8. A turbodiesel V8 is also available. F-450 trucks come with a 6.8-liter Tritan V10 engine.
The Ford Ranger as it’s known today began production in 1983, but it was discontinued after the 2012 model year in America. Ford recently brought the Ranger back for the 2019 model year. The new Ranger is still a mid-size pickup truck, but it has a distinctly beefier look than previous generations. Like most pickup trucks in the present day, it comes in a four-door cab layout as well as the standard two-door. Only one engine is currently available in the Ranger, and that is the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder.
Ford trucks hold their value extremely well, but fortunately, they are also well-known for being reliable and long-lasting.
