Ford introduced the F-Series pickup trucks to the automotive market in 1948. The first Ford F-Series truck served as a replacement for a car model that Ford was previously offering. This F-Series truck, the Ford F-3, was available in a variety of different configurations which were each classified based on the weight rating of the truck. Since its creation, the Ford F-Series has gradually become the best selling vehicle in the United States and in Canada. The popular lineup of trucks began its thirteenth generation of production in 2015.

Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 is the most popular truck in the lineup of Ford F-Series models. With a staggering towing capacity that leads in its class and several different engine layout options, the F-150 is able to satisfy a large number of customer needs. Power output for the 2019 Ford F-150 ranges from 250 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque to 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The 2019 F-150 is available in seven different trim levels each with options between three different bed lengths and three different cab styles.

Ford F-250

The Ford F-250, along with the Ford F-350, Ford F-450, and Ford-550, is a member of Ford’s Class 3-5 Super Duty truck lineup. Ford’s Class 3-5 Super Duty line of vehicles serves the market that is searching for vehicles more powerful than simple pickup trucks but more modest than the more-powerful medium duty pickup trucks. Like the 2019 Ford F-150, the 2019 Ford F-250 is available with three different cab options. The towing capacity of the F-250 begins with 12,300 pounds and climbs all the way to 15,000 pounds.

Ford F-350

The Ford F-350 is a Super Duty pickup truck that is available with rear wheel drive and four-wheel drive drivetrain options. Powered by two different engine platforms, the F-350 is capable of towing a maximum of 21,000 pounds. The two engines that are offered for the 2019 F-350 are mated to the same six-speed automatic transmission. Each trim of the 2019 F-350 is offered with standard 17-inch wheels. However, an upgrade to larger 20-inch wheels is available for F-350 Lariat customers. Drivers have access to the infotainment system through an 8-inch touchscreen display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, WiFi, and 4G LTE are all available for the system as additional features.

Ford F-450

The Ford F-450 is the largest Super Duty pickup truck that Ford has to offer. The F-450, while it is available with three different cab configurations, is only offered with two different truck bed sizes. The F-450 is capable of towing a maximum of 34,000 pounds with engine options that produce a maximum of 450 horsepower and 935 pound-feet of torque. There are both gas and diesel engine options available for the 2019 F-450. The six different trim levels of the F-450 can be equipped with numerous pieces of safety and entertainment technology.

Ford F-550

The Ford F-550 is a commercial grade Super Duty pickup truck that can be configured to fit the needs of a buyer. The 2019 F-550 is powered by a standard 6.8-liter gas engine that produces 288 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque. The F-550 offers seating for six occupants and is available with Ford’s SYNC Basic technology suite. The Ford SYNC Basic suite allows drivers to complete calls hands-free and control the entertainment system using voice commands. The Ford SYNC 3 suite is available as an option for F-550 customers who would like more capabilities for their infotainment systems.

Ford F-600

The Ford F-600 is a Super Duty pickup truck that is catered towards commercial buyers who are in the market for fleet vehicles. In order to assist drivers, Ford has included a variety of safety features on the 2019 F-600. Automatic emergency braking and cruise control are among the many standard driver-assist features. 4G LTE WiFi connectivity is available on F-600 models from the factory. The F-600 is available with two different engine layouts, a gasoline-fueled engine and a diesel-fueled engine. The gasoline engine is a 7.3-liter V8 engine that produces 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The diesel engine of the F-600 is a 6.7-liter engine that produces 450 horsepower and 935 pound-feet of torque through the use of Ford’s PowerStroke technology.

Ford F-650

The Ford F-650 is a member of the Class 6-8 category of Ford Super Duty pickup trucks. More specifically, as of 2016, the Ford F-650 classifies as a Class 7 Super Duty pickup truck. The F-650 is a highly-customizable truck that was previously manufactured by Blue Diamond Truck Company LLC in Mexico. However, the F-650 is now manufactured in-house by Ford at a plant located in Avon Lake, Ohio.

Ford F-750

Along with the Ford F-650, the Ford F-750 is now produced by Ford at their Avon Lake, Ohio production plant. The Ford F-750 exists as both a Class 7 Super Duty truck and a Class 8 Super Duty truck. The F-750 is available in a variety of different configurations that offer a maximum seating capacity for six people. A specially designed six-speed automatic transmission is utilized on the F-750. The six-speed transmission offers SelectShift and double overdrive, which allows drivers to change the characteristics of the transmission depending on their needs. While air conditioning is included standard on the F-750 customers can choose to delete the system if needed.
